I will work diligently to keep Hilton Head Island a community of the highest quality. If elected you have my commitment to support innovative ideas to not only keep Hilton Head Island the first class community that attracted so many of us here, but to make things even better.
I want to preserve the best aspects of our island – from our magnificent beaches and waterways to the special features that define our life, like the Heritage Golf Classic, our thriving arts community, our unique Gullah history, bicycle pathways and quality neighborhoods. But I also want to improve areas where we are weak – like better cellular communications and more viable public areas for shopping and health care.
A community which relies solely on its laurels is foolish. I believe we must continuously look forward with a long term vision to sustain our economy by encouraging new homeowners and investment by businesses. This has been my personal goal since I arrived here 12 years ago, and if it is yours as well, I hope you will support me in my efforts to become your Ward Six representative.
I believe I can do even more to better our island by serving on Town Council ~ that’s why I have chosen to seek this position. I have the experience, the time and the energy to do a good job. I greatly appreciate your support.

" I am convinced that he is the best candidate to preserve what we all love about our Island and keep our local economy strong and competitive in a changing world."
-Bob Onorato
Hilton Head Community Leader
" I have been most impressed with Jim Collett since he ran for mayor in 2010. He has the combination of vision, leadership, experience and energy that our Island needs. His work on improving cellular service and on other community projects since then has only strengthened my support. I am happy to endorse him for Town
Council. "
- Ben Racusin
Former Mayor, Hilton Head Island
" Jim Collett and I co-chaired the $4.2 million renovation and expansion of First Presbyterian Church. We met nearly every week for more than three year, and I can honestly say that much of the wonderful success of that project, including being on budget, can be attributed to Jim's dedication, hard work and flexibility to working as a team player. He has the ideal attributes and skills to be an effective member of Town Council.''
- Jim Willard
